I have a question for all you engaged gals out there.

After you got engaged, did you notice that your friendships with single friends changed?  I guess I'm mostly addressing those of you who are still in college, like me.  After me and Keith got engaged, a few of my friends openly expressed that they didn't think I should be getting married so young and so forth.  As much as I hate to admit it, those comments tore me away, emotionally, from those people.  There are other ways to discuss your concerns than saying, "You shouldn't get married!"  I do understand why they are concerned, but if I had ANY doubts, I would not have said "yes".  It's just so frustrating sometimes.

Slow and steady

A few weekends ago, Meghan and I took a trip to Shreveport to a bridal boutique and we found the real bridesmaid dress.  lol.  I hope not to change my mind again, but I really think this is the dress.  I talked to the lady, now all I have to do is get everyone's measurements and put the order in... but that won't be necessary until the summer.

Anyways, we decided on this Jim Hjelm dress.

Before I went to Shreveport, I went to a different bridal boutique to look at the dress I had chosen before, but it just didn't look as good as I thought it would.  So, I found the above dress and thought it would be more beautiful and pracitcal.  I also thought the ladies would like it more since the fabric is a little thicker and MUCH more forgiving... and the dress is GORGEOUS!  I just wish the website had a better photo... one where she isn't sitting.

Although I've gotten a good deal of the planning done, I'm still a bit overwhelmed by the details left.
I still need to...
  • Find a baker/choose a cake
  • Look into whether to use a catering company or not.
  • Get guys' and girls' measurements
  • Pick out suits for men
  • FIND A DJ!!!!!
That's all I can think of.  Ugh.  That's still a lot.  I'm also in search of the "perfect" shoe.  I want some beautiful, colorful shoes to wear with my dress.  :)

I think I found THE bridesmaid dress!

It is located here

I like it best with the black underlay.

I am going to a bridal shop on Saturday with Brittany (a bridesmaid) and hopefully they will have this exact dress!  :)  And I hope it will look as fabulous in person as it does online.

Reception site.  CHECK!

Today the Bridal Boutique called to tell me that my veil was in and I have to pick it up in 30 days.  Yeah, because I make so many trips to Baton Rouge.  lol.  Oh well, I'm super excited to get it... and wear it around like a psycho bride.  :)

Going to look at the Norton Building tomorrow and, hopefully, BOOK it!  I will be so relieved once the reception area is taken care of.
